The Huber Marionettes

The Huber Marionettes "Suspended Animation"

From 26 to 28 May

The acclaimed artist Phillip Huber makes wooden figures come to life in such a way that makes us believe that characters such as the dancer, the acrobat, the magician or even Liza Minelli, are as real as we are ourselves. This is a show that employs a subtle art that touches the innocence inside all of us, big and small... It will make you smile with your heart.

Phillip Huber manipulates the characters in an incredibly convincing way. Through a series of variety vignettes he reveals humour, drama and grace.
In addition, each puppet is a small work of art. The tailoring of the costumes, the sculpting of the features, the brushstrokes that give nuance to the skin add up to a tour de force manipulation. The fantasy of the show is imbued with a sense of reality that makes our imagination turn what our eyes see into animation in real time.

Phillip Huber is probably the world's most renowned live string puppet artist. He is best known for his work on the three-time Oscar nominated film "Being John Malkovich" and for bringing Disney's "China Girl" and "Oz: The Great and Powerful" to life.

His work has been seen at international festivals in Japan, South Korea, Norway, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Canada and Australia... and now premieres in Barcelona.
